My Favorite Place to Stay in the French Quarter
When you think French Quarter, quiet, serene and relaxing probably aren’t the words popping into your head.
While I love a fun night on the town as much as anyone, I’m not 22 anymore (hard to believe, I know) and need an escape from the crowds.
That’s precisely why I adore Soniat House. Tucked away on Charters Street, this charming guesthouse offers 31 rooms appointed with lovely bath robes, jacuzzis and Egyptian Cotton sheets. You’ll find an honor bar in the lobby, where you may pour yourself a glass of wine, champagne or your cocktail of choice and charge it to your room (honesty counts here– that’s why it’s called an honor bar, not a free bar). They also do a perfect, simple breakfast and coffee service, either in your room or their lush courtyard.
