Rocking the Holidays

What a dream! I got to be a Radio City Rockette! However, the day got off to a tough start.
These long legged beauties perform 300 eye-high kicks per show. I couldn’t even get a kick above my waist. And learning 8 counts of an entire dance number was completely overwhelming. But when I put on one of their signature costumes from the Christmas Spectacular I felt transformed. The highlight of my day was when, standing in my costume in the lobby of Radio City Music Hall, a tour went by and everyone looked at me with huge eyes and smiles as if they were seeing the real deal. The height requirement to be a Rockette begins at 5’6″. I’m 5’3″ but was so elated that I felt my legs grow three inches that day!

I was a similar high kicker Rockette in high school, called the Bruinettes, and we used to warm up with 20 high kicks each day! It was so fun! My mom always wanted to be a Rockette so I tried out for the danceline for her memory, as she had died the year before. Each dance I did for her
I read just a few minutes ago, that you missed your hometown of NH for about an hour, after waking up in a visiting location? I was raised in Rollinsford, NH, born in Rochester, NH! Any relatives in those areas by chance?? I am currently 52, lived in NH from 1963 born, till 2004 when I was supposed to have a Job for Liberty Mutual in Tampa, FL. But I was handled a bad deal because I was “fatter” than everyone else in office. Over the phone it was done, enough so that I sold my house and relocated. But I found out later, that he expected “a thinner person”..
