How to get oriented in the London Underground

It may be the New Yorker in me, but I love taking the subway when I travel.

That said, getting your bearings in a new mass transit system can be so overwhelming. Sometimes it feels like you’re the only person who has no idea what’s going on, where to buy tickets, and whether or not you’re buying the right kind.

Luckily, London has made it super easy for travelers to navigate the Tube. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to get your bearings in the London Underground.

  1. Great info for the London tube. I have to say the Paris Metro makes travel easy, too. Same tips apply. No Blue Shirted helpers in Paris but there are English speaking people at all the Metro entrance booths that will gladly help.
