Phra Nang Beach, Thailand

This amazing beach is located in the Krabi Province in Thailand. This region is known for being home to some of the most stunning natural beauty seen on earth. There are over a hundred islands.  Each one is more beautiful than the next, with its own version of cloud nine.  Once I recovered from the initial shock of such exotic beauty I realized that this is where all the screen saver photography comes from.

The powdered sugar beach alone would be enough to sooth the most frayed-by-modern-society nerves and yet it’s punctuated by solitary limestone cliffs that conceal deep caves covered in stalactites and stalagmites.  At night these mini-monoliths become the preferred playground for scores of monkeys.  There’s only one long boat in the picture but soon many more will arrive.  Some serving fresh banana smoothies and ham and cheese sandwiches on baguettes.  It’s incredible how hungry you get doing absolutely nothing.

Have you traveled to Thailand.  What are some of your favorite beaches?
