Christmas in Brooklyn: Tommaso’s Feast of Seven Fishes

Tommaso is a Brooklyn culinary institution.

I love this Italian restaurant year-round– it’s classic food, family run and all set to a Sinatra soundtrack. However, at Christmastime, it’s simply magnificent. There’s opera singing, Christmas decorations and a decadent meal dubbed the Feast of Seven Fishes.

I can see why Thanksgiving dinner pales in comparison to this dining experience, traditionally celebrated on December 24th. It’s just incredible. Seafood salad, baked clams in red sauce, filet of sole, linguini and white clams, bacalao (apparently, this one is a non-negotiable!). If you ever get invited to partake in one of these dinners, I hope you like seafood.

And I especially hope you arrive hungry. Really, really hungry.

  1. I grew up in Park Slope and now we live in Tucson (which I hate) which to me has no Christmas feeling..it is like gone in a flash so you are making me so home-sick..I first lived on Lincoln Place then we move to 70 7th Avenue..got married at St.Augustine when we got married we live on King’s Highway…I dream of going back but Brooklyn has gotten too pricey…

well Happy Holiday to u and your family…& enjoy the Holidays in Brooklyn for me.
