Why You Should Visit a Rum Distillery in Antigua

I love Antigua, and no that’s not just the rum talking.

Ha! As if I need to explain why this is a fun little Antiguan adventure. But in case you’re looking for reasons to drink some local hooch on this beautiful West Indies isle, I’ll give you three.

First of all, it’s always fun to sample local food and drink, especially when you get to see exactly how it’s made. I love a good factory, brewery or distillery tour! Second, it’s usually a great way to learn a little about the history of a place. How did rum come to be such a thing in Antigua? Way more fun to learn about it while you’re drinking rum! Third, does it get any more Caribbean than drinking rum? Only if you can do with a parrot sitting on your shoulder.
